Young Moth

Researching possible suggestions for the new Children’s Poet Laureate.  I found this poem in a children’s book by Calef Brown and had to share it.

Young Moth

Go forth,
Young Moth.
It takes strength
to lift up and stay aloft
with wings so soft.
Once in flight,
be swift,
or drift all night.
Return to earth
when lights go off.
Sleep tight,
Young Moth.

These poets who write children’s books don’t mess around, man.  I’m twenty years old and I love that poem.
